Strengthening Cooperation towards a Knowledge-based Society in CEI Region

The conference “Strengthening Cooperation towards a Knowledge-based Society in the CEI Region”, pilule envisaged to take place on 24th of October 2008, is organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova with the participation of the newly created network of focal points in the CEI Science & Technology and Information Society fields. Taking into consideration that the network of focal points was created after the CEI structure repositioning in November 2007 (CEI Summit of Heads of Government in Sofia, Bulgaria), this event has a major importance for enhancing the cooperation activities in the CEI region: bringing focal points together will identify new means of cooperation and will set a real common CEI informal area in the field of S&T.

The sessions of the Conference will focus on 2 topics:
  • Development of Knowledge-Based Society in the CEI Region: Identifying New Forms of Cooperation
  • EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) – Opportunity to Improve International Cooperation in S&T and Information Society

This event, and the last working session in particular, aims at exchanging experience and enhancing the cooperation activities within the CEI region in the fields of S&T and Information Society, by bringing relevant CEI Networks of Focal Points together, and seeks to provide a platform for launching concrete collaborative actions in the region.
