The University of Trento (Italy), medicine the Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary), the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and the University of Regensburg (Germany) offer a number of fellowships for incoming Scholars from non-EU countries.
The main objective is to share, acquire and contribute to create knowledge and to pursue research in comparative Local Development, also from an interdisciplinary point of view. The Call is open to scholars submitting research projects on local development in the following disciplinary areas: Law, Economics, Sociology and Political Sciences.
The normal length of each fellowship is three months. Scholars are allowed to spend their fellowship period at one or more Partner Universities. During this period each scholar is requested to conduct research in local development, to participate in the activities of the Joint European Master in Comparative Local Development, including lecturing and giving seminars and supervising students in writing their final dissertation.
Scholars can benefit from the fellowship from September 2009 to March 2011.
The deadline for submitting the application documentation is February 2nd, 2009. In case of documentation sent by mail, only applications received within the deadline will be considered.
A number of fellowships are offered to scholars who meet the eligibility requirements. The amount of the grants offered is Euro 13,000. Each fellowship consists of a fixed amount of Euro 1,000 for covering travel expenses and a scholarship of Euro 4,000 per month.
In order to qualify for the fellowship the applicant must be a citizen of any country other than the 27 EU Member States, the EEA/EFTA States and the candidate countries for accession to the EU. The scholar cannot have carried out her/his main activities (studies, work etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years (01.03.2004 – 28.02.2009) in any of the above mentioned countries (27 EU Member States, EEA/EFTA States and candidate countries).
