Developing Entrepreneurial Skills for Future Career

Nowadays, ailment young scientists have to find innovative ways of acquiring better skills and wider experience in an international research environment. The global research and labour markets are continuingly evolving. The demands are growing and new skills are desirable. Science is not enough, entrepreneurship is the key to success!

Centre for European Integration perceives the need to provide you with abilities that are crucial to perform on the European Research Area. That is why we have created CEI Spring Workshop for Young Researchers (6th to 12th of April 2008), with the aim of familiarizing participants with the most important issues in terms of starting up a new business, research funding, project management and science - business cooperation. Application deadline is: 6th of March 2008.

The workshop is addressed to PhD students and young researchers from CEI Member States. Our idea is to bring scientists together and provide them with the most important issues in terms of starting up a new business, research funding, project management and science - business cooperation. This will enable them to successfully turn research ideas into practice and plan future career development. The participants will have a great opportunity to undertake their training in a multicultural environment, to share their knowledge and experience, which may result in a future co-operation.

The programme of the workshop is divided into four modules devoted to:

  • Commercialization of scientific research
Participants will have the opportunity to find out how to put their research into practice. They will be acquainted with the most important issues of academic entrepreneurship, including starting up a new business, intellectual property rights and research innovation.
  • Research Project Management
Participants will learn how to draw up a project, how to monitor its progress; what an effective time planning and financing is. This course will enable young researchers to manage their scientific projects.
  • Research funding through the FP7 and mobility programmes
This module will provide participants with the knowledge of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), especially in the field of mobility opportunities and establishing cooperation among different research institutions.
  • Communication in multicultural scientific environment
This part of training will acquire students with the rules of effective multicultural communication, both in business and research environment.
